  • Recommended attendance of a Fibre Channel Protocol class or equivalent experience
  • Recommended attendance of the Implementing Cisco Storage Network Solutions (ICSNS) class or equivalent experience
  • During the course of instruction, the learner will be exposed to the configuration of advanced technologies, such as Fibre Channel, and FCoE, but will not be required to have experience with these technologies in order to successfully to complete the class.
  • This course covers initial configuration of Fibre Channel, QoS, and FCoE on Cisco Nexus 5000 Series Switches. For a deeper understanding in Fibre Channel, QoS and FCoE, students are encouraged to explore additional training in those technologies.

Course Description

Configuring Cisco Nexus 5000 Series Switches (DCNX5K) v3.1 is a 5-day ILT training program designed to serve the needs of systems and field engineers, consulting systems engineers, technical solutions architects, and Cisco integrators and partners who install and implement Cisco Nexus 5000 Series Switches and Cisco Nexus 2000 Series Fabric Extenders. This course covers the key components and procedures required to configure, manage, and troubleshoot these Cisco Nexus platforms.

A certification exam is not associated with this course, and Channel Partner deployment engineers will use this training as augmentation to the DCUFI course material to provide in-depth experience in implementing the Cisco Nexus family product features.

This is the third release of material covering the Cisco Nexus 5000 Series Switches and Cisco Nexus 2000 Series Fabric Extender product families. The course focuses on the product hardware, its architecture, key features, and market differentiators, with extensive feature configuration and hands on labs.

As the DCNX5K v3.1 class is a product training class, it is expected that as new features or hardware are released, that additional modules or lessons will be developed rapidly and included as addendums or inclusions to the material to ensure that the class is kept up-to-date.
